“Let’s Flamingle” August 10th!!!

Mark Your calendars for Saturday, August 10th, 11-4:30
We are having a “Let’s Flamingle” day at the shop.
Sales, prizes and of course munchies.
It is my hope that the dealers can be present to meet and greet you
and most important—make deals!  The flood waters have
receded—-we never were wet in our store, but of course the
media made it sound  like the entire city of Alton was under water.
Trust me, we might not have flood water damage, but it has been a hard
few months for everyone.
With that said, we look forward to this fun day!!!
Until next time,
Pam

Getting Geared Up for Another Fun Event

I’m working out details for another fun event.  We just had our “Chili” day mid February.  I think we’ll wait until Easter, Proms, and even Mother’s day to pass by.  Probably looking at early June.  Everyone is so busy, I’ll keep you posted.  Don’t wait until then to come in - - -the shop already has a different look, with much more to come.  It’s been a good busy couple of months and we are ready for spring, and tourists, and happy customers!  See you soon,
Until next time,
Pam

It’s Been A While—But We Are Still Here!

Here are some shots of different booths and spaces inside our shop.  Its been so long since I posted, I’m actually using this as a practice—but I think you’ll see things you like!  Just last weekend we had a fun Saturday—cold and chilly outside, hot chili inside.  Everyone was invited to come in for some hot chili while they browsed the shop.  It was a good day! Look through the pictures and enjoy!  I’ll try not to take so long to post again.  Follow us on Facebook and Instagram!

We truly have something for everyone!

Happy Fourth of July!!!

We have lots of changes going on here in the Alton shop.  Sorry it’s been so long since I posted.  Nothing is more discouraging that finding a shop you love, looking at the blog and it’s soooo outdated.  Promise I’ll try to do better!  You can also see us on Instagram and believe it or not I have a Country Meadows Antiques facebook page now!  Watch it, like it and follow it!

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July.  It may not seem like it——but we have so much to be thankful for.
Until next time,
Pam

We’re Wet—But We’re Open!

This is the window at our Alton store!  We sprang a leak—well, many leaks.  Until the rain stops so the roof can be repaired and the gutters replaced, this window will be empty.  The only reason I’m even posting this is because so many people have seen the empty window and thought we were closed.  NO WE ARE NOT CLOSED.  Normal hours are Monday through Saturday from 11-4:30 and Sunday from Noon to 4:30.  Please come see us!  Lots of great things happening in Alton, and we’ve been a part of it since 1986.  It’ll take more than a leak to chase us away! Follow us and like us on Facebook and Instagram—finally!
Until next time,
Pam

Home at Last!!!

We just got home from the Heartland Show in Richmond Indiana. It was a beautiful show. Travel was good but the weather was not on our side the day of the show. Storms and wind kind of puts a damper on things. But...we did four shows in the last six weeks and even though we would love too---you can't hit a home run every time. Here are pictures of our booth. I thought it turned out lovely.. Now we are home for a while but no time to rest. We have three windows to redo before Friday. Somehow we'll get it done.
Until next time,
Pam

Our Wood River store is up and running!

I love going by the shop and seeing what it looks like after dark.  I took these pictures just because I wanted to share with you!  We've been so busy doing shows--Fox Valley, Midwest Art & Antiques, Rural Life, and this weekend Heartland.  After that we are home for a while.  Gotta a lot to do to get ready for the holidays. The Wood River Store has antiques and collectibles along with gift items.  Lots of candles, dip mixes, soap, jewelry, ponchos, scarves and accessories.  Very festive.  It will be open the first three Sundays in December too!  Madisons Tea Room will be open for lunch on those Sundays as well and Martha has some great menus planned.  Alton continues to be the main store full of antiques and collectibles.  You need to check in regularly.  It changes all the time.!!! Let us know what you are looking for.  Chances are ---we have it!

Until next time

Sunday Funday

Well, we're getting some things picked out to start putting the new shop together.  We have to be picky because this shop is not near the size of the Alton shop.  We'll have it full, but not crammed!  Picking out the gifts things is taking me forever because I want different than the normal.  It has to mix in perfectly with antiques and vintage pieces.  It's fun---at least that's what I'm telling myself.
Some needs some TLC, but it's the size of things that I'm picky about.  The TLC is Gary's problem!
Until next time,

We're Opening A Second Store!!!

This is the front of our second location!  We're really excited about it.  It's in Wood River, Illinois right next door to Madison's Tearoom.  It's going to be special!  Antiques, collectibles and gift items.

I'm busy trying to figure out where to start!  It just came out of the blue.  It will also be named Country Meadows, so keep watching as we progress.  Opening sometime in September!
Until next time,
Pam

Robin's Egg Blue Metal Stool

Sometimes you just can't resist the most simplest things!  This metal stool is different.  I'm calling it a stool, but it could be used as a plant stand, or side table.  After a good cleanup, hopefully some of the light rusty issues on the top will calm down a bit.  It only has three legs and I love the turned tips on the legs.  Had to have it!

You really need to put our city---Alton, Illinois in your travel plans.  We are smack dab in the middle of the United States--almost! Lots to see and do.  We are open everyday!  Hope to see you soon,
Until next time,
Pam

Is White a Color

I love ironstone and couldn't resist these molds.  I thought they looked perfect with these little white shoes.  And yes...those candies are "Mary Janes"! I got started putting Mary Janes in my booth at shows because they were old fashioned candy, but more importantly the red and mustard color matched the display.  So now I always set out Mary Janes.  Even when the items don't sell, I can at least tell that customers are looking because the candy disappears.  Just a fun little thing to do!  Have a wonderful day.  I plan too.
Until next time,
Pam

Heartland Antique Show was a good one!

We just returned from the Heartland Antiques Show in Richmond, Indiana.  The travel was great, the show was great and now it's good to be home.  I have alot to redo at the shop.  Exciting changes so check back.  Here are some pictures of our booth--

It turned out nice!  It was only a 16 ft booth so we had to cram a bit!
Keep checking back--I have more pictures of my favorite things at the show.
Until next time,
Pam
