Booth Setup Takes Us A While!

These pictures are the corner booth space we had at Heart of Country last year.  As you can see, we have furniture, folk art and country items---and hundreds of smalls!  Everyone likes to take home something right?  It takes us a long time to setup.  Setup begins on Tuesday afternoon and the show doesn't open until Thursday evening.  That seems like a long time for setup, but we use every minute of it.  The trick is to have everything priced before we get there.  That would be an easy task, but we pickup things right up to the last minute to take so there's always the crunch time.  We also have to have things in order at the shop before we leave.  A lot of dealers are only show dealers, so they don't have the added worry of a shop.  After looking at the pictures you can see why it takes me a while.

I am still spending my days at the hospital--my dad is really very ill, so I'll probably be taking some "unpriced" stuff and working overtime at setup.  But that's okay, I need to be with my dad right now.

Heart of Country-Nashville

This time next weekend we will be checking in at Opryland Hotel.  I'm getting excited but still have alot to do to get ready.  The show "Heart of Country" will open with a preview party on Valentine's Day!  Then again on Friday and Saturday--Feb 15 & 16.  If you've never attended this show....there is no other show like it.  Hope you can be there.

A Little Blue For You

I can always tell when someone has looked at the bottles.  They get moved around!  The scale that the bottles and pitcher are sitting in is an old baby scale.  I picked this up from a retired nurse that used to work with newborns at the hospital.  I wonder how accurate it really is?

Party Food is Nothing New!

Parties and party food is nothing new!  There are old vintage cookbooks especially for buffets and parties.  I couldn't resist taking some pictures from a few cookbooks.

Anything--not just party food would look great on the white ironstone plate.  Yumm!!

Have a fun Superbowl Sunday--and get out those old serving pieces and use them!

It's crunch time, I'm not ready...now my dad's in the hospital and I'm worried about that.  He's just got to get better.  He's the rock of our family.

Something for Everyone--Literally!!!

When I set up at a show, I really have something for everyone--every price range too!  This child's sewing machine really works and can teach the young girl how to sew. This Stitch Mistress is in excellent condition!

A wonderful berry box--actually I have 5 of them.

A little "Happy New Year" holiday headbands.

Bottle brush wreaths in various sizes.

Crystal salt cellars and knife rests.

A large cabinet photo-great house and big family!

Small doll size metal table and chairs with rockers below that!

I Just Can't Throw Anything Away!

Does anyone else have trouble letting things go?  You know, throwing things away?  These were feet on the bottom of a small kitchen cabinet.  One was broken so rather than find another one, we took the other three off.  I just knew we could use them for something!

Well---what do you think?  Works perfectly to hold a business card or price tag--right??

Does that make me a hoarder? Or am I frugel and clever? Ha!
